About

Where it begins

Golden Africa begins with cloth. Kente woven in narrow strips and sewn edge to edge. Adire, dyed by hand in deep indigo. Wax prints bright enough to read from across a market square. Across the continent, fabric has never been only fabric — it carries proverbs, marks celebrations, tells you where someone comes from and what they want to say.

We believe those textiles deserve to be worn every day, not saved for a special occasion. Golden Africa exists to bring that heritage into a wardrobe that works on an ordinary Monday morning — in Prague, in Accra, or anywhere in between.

How we design

Every collection starts with a textile tradition and the story behind it. We look at the patterns and what they mean, then cut them into shapes made for everyday life: an overshirt, a wrap dress, a field jacket.

African design is bold, and we let it be. Colour is confident, prints are given room, and silhouettes stay clean so the cloth can speak.

We also keep the fabric honest. Wax-print and hand-dyed cloth varies from one length to the next, so pattern placement and shade differ from piece to piece. No two garments are quite the same — and we think that is exactly the point.

The name

Gold has always stood for value that lasts. Africa is where our inspiration, and our cloth, comes from. Together they say what we want every piece to be: rooted, well made, and worth keeping.

What we stand for

  • Respect for the source. We celebrate the traditions we draw on and take care not to reduce meaningful designs to decoration.
  • Made to last. Carefully chosen fabrics and considered cuts, designed to be worn for years rather than a season.
  • For everyone. African culture is not a trend — it is living, modern and global, and these clothes are for anyone who loves it.
